My family's been collecting shells on the North Carolina coast since the 1950s, and most of the treasures have come to reside at my mom's house. She has mason jars full of them, organized by species, and an entire garden bed mulched with conch shells, no joke! This design is kind of an ode to her, to my grandmother, and to my Great Aunt Elizabeth Holden, the first female commissioner of Holden Beach, NC. Hats off, ladies.
As for me, I've never run for commissioner of a quaint seaside town, but I -have- been running Flytrap Clothing since 2008. One of my main objectives has always been to source looser-fitting t-shirts than just the standard "junior fit" so common to our industry. We want our clothing to be flattering on a greater variety of women, and this top doesn't disappoint! It's got a more generous, drape-y fit than similar tees we've tried and has become a weekend wardrobe staple. The fabric is an eco jersey featuring partially recycled polyester, some organic cotton, and naturally-occurring rayon--a perfect backdrop for the smattering of sea urchins drifting across on the front.
Every shirt, dress, scarf, and skirt from Flytrap Clothing features our own original designs, and we screen print them by hand in our backyard workshop here in North Carolina.
FIBER CONTENT: 50% polyester, 38% cotton, 12% rayon
CARE: Please wash in cold water and tumble dry on medium, or line dry if you wish to avoid shrinkage. Do not iron the print.
BASIC SIZE CHART: Small / 32-34" bust Medium / 34-36" bust Large / 36-38" bust X-Large / 40-42" bust
HOW TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SIZE: We get the sizing information above from our manufacturers and then double check it against feedback from our models and customers, but without having a fashion industry standard for what constitutes a "medium," we know that online shopping can be a bit of a guessing game. We want to get your order right the first time, so we came up with this time-tested, tried and true formula for the most accuracy in sizing: lay one of your favorite tees flat on a table, and measure the width across the chest, underneath the sleeves. Then you can compare that flat measurement with the following measurements and leave the guesswork behind!
Small / 17.5" flat measurement Medium / 18.5" flat measurement Large / 19.5" flat measurement X-Large / 20.5" flat measurement
